The academy encourages its students to take responsibility and enhances students’ leadership skills through its Student Council. The Council has a School Captain, two Vice Captains (from Boys and Girls), and four Prefects (two from Science stream and two from Management / Humanities & Social Sciences). It coordinates and involves students to organize activities. It also serves as a facilitator to address the concerns of the students to improve the learning environment. In addition to gaining knowledge and skills of managing an event or resolving a dispute, the students get a chance to acknowledge expectations the academy and their parents have from them.

It has a term of one year. A new team is elected from A2 students in June.
